Group Guidelines
To ensure a positive and productive environment, we ask members to adhere to the following rules:
- Respectful engagement: Conversations should focus on writing progress and remain G-rated, ethical, and supportive.
- Encouragement over critique: Writers have strong opinions, but the focus of this group is on forward momentum, not debating writing styles, political or religious opinions, the genres people are writing in, or the objectives people have for their careers or for the group as a whole.
- Right to Attend is by Permission Only: Violating group rules, behaving in a less than courteous manner, or triggering painful conflicts will result in a member being excluded from future meetings.
- The Moderator Handles All Discipline Problems: Members never need to take it upon themselves to chastise other members of the group for bad behavior. If they aren't happy or comfortable with someone's behavior, they just report their concerns to nancy@nancyfultonmeetups.com who will address the issue.
- Video on or Off: Participants can choose to participate with the video on or off during zoom meetings. They can attend by phone. How much they share about themselves or their work is up to them.
