In these two 90-minute workshops you learn the fundamentals of designing, building, and funding a $500K-$5M film.
We group these films together because, at this budget level, you'll be required to raise money from investors and/or banks in order to produce them. You learn about script acquisition, attaching key crew and name talent, reaching out to banks, using state and national production incentives, and working with distributors. If you are currently working to fund a film at this level, this workshop will help you understand how these projects are usually built and why that tried-and-true processes usually minimizes your risks and maximizes your probability of a profitable project.
Topics addressed include:
- Development: What it is and why it's absolutely critical to ensuring your film isn't a dangerous waste of time and money.
- Funding: Where money for projects at these budget levels comes from, including where to find investors and what you need to know about incentives.
- Attaching the Right Cast & Crew using Bankability Analysis: Why these choices can't be guess work and how to get the advice and metrics you need to make the right decisions.
